    Hi David

Thank you for this informative and helpful article.

Too often “advice” given on computer subjects is of the ‘you should fix this’ or ‘disable port xmv1234 or you will be struck blind and dumb’ type, both of which are bloody useless for non tech computer users.
    Keep it up.

    Cheers

    John

    David,

just a word about my experience with the WordPress Security Scan plugin.

I installed the plugin on the advice of a WordPress security expert but was locked out of my own blog by the plugin. I never did get back in again. I deleted the WP installation and started again. (Now I would go into cPanel and delete the plugin file.)

I don’t know if this is the reason that the plugin only has a three star rating out of five.

Anyawy, I have never used it again.

    Wayne.

Thanks Wayne for your comments about WP Security Scan.

I only use this as a check, but if you have done the other things in the article then you don’t need to install it at all.

If any plugin locks you out of your WordPress installation, you can delete it from the WordPress plugins directory, as you say. This will either be a file or a directory within wp-content/plugins from the root WordPress installation folder.

    Thanks!

    David

Thanks for a very interesting post David. Been thinking about using Keypass but I’m off now to investigate Lastpass.

That’s understandable that cash can make us autonomous. But what to do when one doesn’t have money? The one way only is to try to get the loans or just student loan.
